そしてこのレポートでは、利用しているソーシャルメディアの種類数に応じて、企業を4つのタイプに分類している。最も多く利用している企業を「大御所」、利用数の少ない企業を「壁の花」に分類している（マクドナルドやBP等がこれにあたる）。また本レポートは、ソーシャルメディアの利用具合と収益成長率の関係についても言及している。曰く「大御所」はこの12ヵ月で収益を平均18%伸ばしており、「壁の花」は6%の低下となっている。しかしソーシャルメディアの利用具合と収益の間に関係性があるかどうかについては疑問を感じている。成長しつつある大手企業が、より多くソーシャルメディアを利用しているということに過ぎないように思える。
